Pirate Head Waistcoat

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

— Coco Chanel

Shaun’s leather bike suit only has a small pocket 5not sufficient for him to carry all his little stuff, such as keys, wallet, etc. So I told him that i will make him a waistcoat that he can wear underneath with load of pockets Smile.

Anita had this Burda 3403 pattern for fancy waistcoat, which she used to make waistcoats and cummerbunds for her wedding. So I used it to make the waistcoat. I just added two pockets on the chest and used an open ended zipper to close. Also instead of placket pockets I used zippers so he can close them  and secure whatever it is  in them.

I has no idea it was so easy to put in zippers to close pockets. I’ll be doing this more often now that I know hoe do do it Smile.

SNV32955He wanted the waistcoat to match his suit that is red and black and has a ‘Punisher’ skull on the back. Hence the red pirate skull fabric Smile.

I found it easy to make.. Only used the pattern instructions to see how  the lining is attached to ne main fabric. Otherwise i used my own experience on how each piece goes together.

I don't really like talking about myself. But, I love sewing and after reading a lot of blogs on the internet about it, I've decided to give it a go as well. I am Romanian born, but live in the UK. I am a bit selfish when it comes to sewing. I tend to make stuff more for myself. Others have to go through a lot of torture in order for me to make something. My mum did it twice. Well I only wanted to make the dresses fit her perfectly. And in the end they looked great.
