April Challenge–Last one–Hobo Bag

For my last project for the April Challenge, I’ve chosen to make another bag. There are still some projects from my book with patterns I did not have a chance to  do this month Sad smile. I’ll get to them some time.

So this time I wanted a fury bag, so I’ve picked ‘Amy Butler’s Style Stiches’ book.  from it I chose to make  a variation on the Hobo bag. I’ve made the large bag, but I’ve taken out the yoke piece.  Also the original does not have a zipper at the opening, I’ve added one, and made the pattern pieces myself. I also used an old pair of jeans that had no chance of being worn again for the handles.

I was a bit disappointed with the instructions. In the end I’ve made the bag without following them. I found them hard to  follow  and most of them did not make sense to me. It must by my English Ghost.

It was pretty easy to put the bag together. So not following the instructions was not a bad thing for me. I think I’ve exaggerated a bit with the size, but hey I can use it to go shopping. I bet I’ll be noticed with  so much fur. Hope no one tired to pet it. Hahahaha!!!!

Here are a few close up of the finished bag

Overall I just love it! Think I’ll make it again, but will go with the smaller version. Smile

My April Challenge is now finished. I almost achieved my  objective to  make something from all the book that come with patterns that I own. I was almost there, sill need to complete a project from BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook. I did manage to complete more project than I normally do over a month. two tops, one skirt and two bags I think  its’  a good result for me. Also I’ve done more planning than I normally do. I do not usually have a plan. I just pick something and make it. But that it is way I have a huge list of to do projects Smile.

I do think, I was not ready for such a  challenge. But one learn from mistakes some time. I think I’ll wait for a bit before I’ll think another challenge.

I don't really like talking about myself. But, I love sewing and after reading a lot of blogs on the internet about it, I've decided to give it a go as well. I am Romanian born, but live in the UK. I am a bit selfish when it comes to sewing. I tend to make stuff more for myself. Others have to go through a lot of torture in order for me to make something. My mum did it twice. Well I only wanted to make the dresses fit her perfectly. And in the end they looked great.
