So I’m ready for my next challenge. this time I’m going for a skirt from the Twinkle Sews – 25 handmade fashions from the runway to your wardrobe by Wenlan Chia.

I just love her designs in this book. for this project I chose the Annie Hall skirt. Her book does not come as usual with  tissue pattern, but with a CD that has all the patterns on.

Ever since I’ve printed the pattern for my skirt, a whooping 56 pages, and pieced it together I knew I had to at least do a muslin as it seems way to big for me. I don’t know why, but even though when I printed it I made sure that the option ‘no scaling’ was set, it still come out too big.

So a few hours later I’ve figured out I need to take out from the sides a total of 14 cm (huge amount). So I’ve been slowly changing  all the pieces. Now I am on to overlock  all the pieces. and they are quite a few. This will take me some time. Sad smile.

I am going for the exposed seam allowances (I think that is a great idea Smile). Some of the pieces have been marked incorrectly, and the instructions are not very straightforward, so I’m almost on my own on this one.

Will try to keep you  updated on this one. It might take me longer than I expected to finish it. I was hoping to finish  a project a week for my April Challenge, but as it stands now with work and other commitments, it might not be possible.

I don't really like talking about myself. But, I love sewing and after reading a lot of blogs on the internet about it, I've decided to give it a go as well. I am Romanian born, but live in the UK. I am a bit selfish when it comes to sewing. I tend to make stuff more for myself. Others have to go through a lot of torture in order for me to make something. My mum did it twice. Well I only wanted to make the dresses fit her perfectly. And in the end they looked great.
